Malwarebytes recently merged their free version with the trial version of their commercial (paid) program. And truth be told, that’s the version you actually downloaded and installed. To answer your question, Malwarebytes does indeed still offer a free version.

I even uninstalled it and downloaded it again to make sure, but it just installed the trial version again. I know for a fact that I clicked the link to download the free version.
